Hey {{first_name}} ,
In typical teacher fashion, I’m subscribed to a million email lists from different programs, curriculums, teachers, and associations that I follow to stay up-to-date and that I use in my own teaching journey. One such email list is that of Prodigy Education.
If you do not know Prodigy, it is game-based math program (they now have ELA, too) that helps kids work through math problems while making it feel like a video game type atmosphere. I’m not big on a lot of these online gamification programs for education (I’m talking about you Lexia & I-Ready), but I do like Prodigy, when used in moderation.
Regardless of my thoughts on Prodigy’s program, which is available for free to teachers and parents alike, they sent me an email this morning about this AMAZING summer resource that I wanted to share with you today.

Heeyyy!
I’m Sammy Bohannon, the creator behind Unearthed Learning Roots. I believe we have to figure out what it is that kids love so that we can use it to really get through to them. So I create fun printables and learning resources for parents and teachers to help get kids engaged in the learning process…without them even realizing it.
92 Days of Screen-Free, Play-Based Math Fun
Prodigy has released a free calendar for the summer for grades 1-5 (exiting these grades) with math-based activities for every single day from June 1 - August 31.
I’ve already printed the calendars for both my kiddos and I encourage you to do the same.
You do not need to use Prodigy, have to have an account, or even log in to access these calendars.
I personally had a bit of difficulty figuring out the calendars when I first opened the webpage, so I created you a video to show you how to choose the correct calendar for your grade level. You can watch it below.
I am not an affiliate for Prodigy and I make nothing off sharing this. I just genuinely thought it was a great resource and I wanted to share with you immediately.

A Short Update on Unearthed Learning Roots
I’ve been planning to make a post for a while, but life has a way of life-ing. My family ended up making a HUGE move and was hoping to finish my Summer Reading Challenge Bundle before I emailed you, but that is not going to happen for another week or two and I didn’t want to wait that long to send you an email.
Anyway, I want to share a few new resources in my shop you can check out. If you download something, I’d be so, so, so appreciative if you would leave me a review so I can show the other amazing fans that I’m not the only one who thinks my resources are super duper.
First, I have a free summer flower word search for you. It is ONE word search, available in color and black and white, and has a cute hidden message for you when you find all the words.

Next, I’ve got a Summer Word Search Set for you. It has a different theme from the set above and is great for kids who are reading; I recommend ages 7 and up.

Planning a vacation this summer? Get your kiddos excited with these Vacation-Themed Word Searches!

And last but not least, camping is prime time for camping. Before you go (or during your trip!), read about this family’s camping excursion and throw a little summer reading comprehension into your day.
Don’t forget about our new referral rewards. The more you share this newsletter with your friends, the more rewards you earn. You can earn free resources from my shop, coupon codes for my products on TPT and Etsy, and even gift cards!
Until next time,
Sammy Bohannon
I want to hear from you! Tell me what you thought of this post. I personally reply to all comments.
